My first ever blog

I decided to create this blog to share my various thoughts and experiences with whoever may be interested in them. This is an exciting part of our life since we are actively developing our jewelry business, while continue to pursue our scientific ideas. As you can imagine we have been debating for a long time whether it is a good idea to start a jewelry business when the whole economy is creaking and rumbling. I believe, that these times will force us to look around in our immediate environment and re-evaluate values. Let's just take an extreme example: What happens if the globalized manufacturing, retail, and trade systems completely fails? Who can you then trade with? Your neighbor or next to next neighbor. There will be a baker and a shoemaker, and a blacksmith and hopefully a jeweler within walking distance. So life do not have to stop, just take another route.
